Axis Films and Axis Post

Axis was founded in 1989 by former members of the LWT film department. The company specialised in providing shooting equipment for film dramas.

By 1991 demands made on the company by a broadening marketplace required a move to larger premises. At Shepperton Studios the company had the space to develop its 35mm and 16mm inventory and in due course made the move into digital formats. In 1998 Axis acquired GHS, Scotland’s premier film facilities house.

The company has created a pattern of steady growth in an uncertain economic climate and fluctuating market conditions. Our clients now operate in all areas of production from documentary to commercials and from corporate to feature films.

Looking to the future, we anticipate further development of digital formats at both the high and low end, increasingly challenging environments for both film and digital alongside a continuing demand for the highest standards.
